Living in Japan really ...

i really hate how you start with generalizing about laowai. First of all I agree that complaining is sometimes not that kosher. however sometimes as a foreigner in a foreign country we need to vent. I disagree with the view that we as foreigners aren't allowed to say something negative about china. i am sure plenty ... Full Comment>>

It has been 4 years since I first stepped foot into Asia, and I can remember after learning that I first got a job in Japan, feeling so excited and filled with wonderment. Blogs : xiaoxiong Posted a new blog Misunderstood images about laowai

Since the "Opening of China in 1979", the nation has made great strides in economics, science, and its general relationship with the world community. However, despite these things, I find that sometimes there is a big disconnect between many Chinese people's perception of Westerners and what is based in reality. ...

I think its too easy to blame a gory past for a solemn outlook. Look at the Chinese, in the 20th century they went through hell and back, but they are not afraid to smile. However, there is some point to your article that we do seem to generalize Russians in negative ways. Full Comment>>
