Articles : glydwelle commented on news Expats Who Don’t Learn Mandarin Find it Hard to Succeed in China

Is this just an advertisement and not an actual article.... Either way... totally stupid, I barely speak any Chinese beyong daily life and I am content. My friend is fluent in Chinese and usually says things like "I wish I never learned this language, it makes it hard to leave after putting in so much work to learn ... Full Comment>>

Articles : glydwelle commented on news 5 Reasons I am back in China: Reverse Culture Shock is Real

I think they are going to try to do it faster. They are trying to put a greater emphasis on Chinese employees, especially what I have been reading about English and Engineering jobs. For English they are convinced still that Chinese will replace english as the global language and for engineering it goes back to ... Full Comment>>

Articles : glydwelle commented on news 5 Reasons I am back in China: Reverse Culture Shock is Real

I make enough to buy a car, but why would I when people here drive insane? I prefer to take subway or bus. The other problem is if I return home, how do I get the car back or do I just sell it. It's much more convenient for most to just use buses or subway compared to driving. Having a car here doesn't make you ... Full Comment>>

Many of these Chinese words that they say are being added, no one except the random people studying Chinese know what they mean. I have been lucky with the weddings I have went to. My coworkers and friends when they have gotten married have told Guests not to give money. They told me they saved enough and have everything they want so they don't want others to pay them. Full Comment>>

Articles : glydwelle commented on news What do Foreigners See When They Watch Chinese Movies?

"When these are made into movies, foreigners are not often able to appreciate the genre." Not able to appreciate is usually code for something that is either far out there or sucks. Around China : glydwelle commented on news Police Called after Blind Date Bill Dispute

The reason it was probably so expensive is from tradition. Tradition(now) is on a first date to buy way more food then you need. It's kind of like saying "look at how much money on food I can waste, I can spend so much and give you so much." I tend to take my dates out to a nice place and pay for the meal(unless ... What I should have said was This article, not your article. I was pointing out what was wrong with the article that you had translated it from. Just want to correct a few incorrect things about your article. After school sports in most states(I think all actually) are not credits. You can earn things to get your letter-man jacket and pins, but not for class. Another problem is most high schools will offer to let you choose between physics or chemistry. But. ... Full Comment>>
