I'm a German and married my Shanghainese wife 10 years ago, we inquired and got pretty much the same load of paperwork headache as you've mentioned so we've married in Hong Kong instead and spent our honeymoon there too. HK had much less regulations on getting the marriage certificate and hassle free too. Full Comment>>
