Articles : WCG commented on news A Pass to Simplicity – Credit Cards in China

This article needs revision. I've had to go through this multiple times in multiple ways. There is one big fat gorilla in the room that nobody is talking about. The Chinese government likes to control the money supply and this includes credit card debt. The article said, "Foreign credit and debit card use in China ... Full Comment>>

Articles : WCG commented on news Teaching English in China: The Frustrations of a Foreign Teacher

First of all, the ones paying the money are not sitting in the classroom. So, just because the students parents fork out big bucks, doesn't mean the student is motivated to learn. Teachers who are "fresh off the boat" always think they're contributing great value to their students. News flash, the students know the ... Full Comment>>

Around China : WCG commented on news 72% of Chinese Overseas Students in US Can’t Find Post-Grad Work There

So the argument is, Chinese students head back to China because they cannot find full-time employment in the USA. Wow, talk about slanted reporting! I reject the premise. I guess the WSJ isn't accustomed to Chinese culture. There are multiple other reasons for Chinese students to return home after graduation. 1) ... Full Comment>>

Around China : WCG commented on news Another Foreign Teacher in China Exposed for Child Porn Convictions in the US

walyd, I've read your comment three or four times now, and I still have no idea what the hell you're saying. Your synopsis is just rambled thoughts put together without logical progression. Provide some punctuation please. What does "..." mean? It's irritating to say the least. The point of writing is to convey ... Full Comment>>

Around China : WCG commented on news Another Foreign Teacher in China Exposed for Child Porn Convictions in the US

Actually DaqingDevil, I'm smart enough not to post a bunch of fluff. I would gladly share the stories that have been disclosed to me by foreigners. I was careful to mention that it has been my personal experience. And yes, I am quite aware that perhaps I have had a skewed experience because I've been unlucky enough ... Full Comment>>

Around China : WCG commented on news Another Foreign Teacher in China Exposed for Child Porn Convictions in the US

Umm, from my personal experience working with multiple other foreigners, this story is just the tip of the iceberg. I'm actually disgusted at some of the foreigners I've met out here. I would say that most of the foreigners that I've met who are not here on assignment with an international company, have some major ... Full Comment>>

Articles : WCG commented on news Breaking Your Contract in China: New Consequences for Pulling a “Midnight Run”

A release letter is simply a document that tells the government that you no longer work for your employer. Sometimes it is referred to as a recommendation letter. However, it is not a recommendation letter that offers praise or criticism. Actually, each province has a different format of what is accepted, but ... Full Comment>>

Indeed. Never let the school have your identifying paperwork. Never leave them with your passport or FEP. They get a copy and that's it. Your passport is technically not even your property. It's the property of the issuing country. Same goes for all gov't docs. Never surrender your docs to anyone for any reason ... Full Comment>>

Around China : WCG commented on news Australian Foreigner Locked Up For a Year After Fending Off Intruders

Everyone who has lived here for a while knows that Chinese laws are simply retarded. As for the Chinese citizen commenting here, I think you made a bad comment and now you're forced to defend your position. You said he should have waited until his family was in mortal danger. Well, I would say that four angry men ... Full Comment>>
