I am Priyanka and I have been been teaching for over 12 years. I have experience with PYP, Common core, traditional indigenous knowledge, and pedagogy I have a Master degree in "Master of Science in Education" with Special Education extension. I also hold New York State certification in Special Education and Liberal Arts and Science. As a lifelong learner myself and an enthusiastic teacher. I am dedicated to enable young minds to develop and achieve the foundational knowledge and skills needed to become a lifelong learner. I aim to give children as many opportunities and experiences as possible in order to engage them to become global citizens. I believe learning should be meaningful and fun. I am always searching for innovative solutions and utilize instructional and management techniques in my teaching. As a professional, and as a role model, an educator plays many roles. It is important deal positively with conflict and strive to create an environment of open communication and respect in my classroom. Creating a safe and fun environment, different classroom strategies, developing their transdisciplinary skills, enforcing positive environment, inclusive learning for all the children, culture sensitivity, communication with parents, and collaboration is very important to me. There are many approaches to learning - through exploration, discovery and play. As a practicing artist, creativity is very important asset when planning engaging lessons and interdisciplinary activities. It is my belief that education should be individualized based on interests, subjects should be integrated rather than separated, and most importantly learning should be authentic, meaningful and fun! I love everything about my profession. I love teaching because sharing my knowledge with others is very rewarding. Every single day we make a difference in someone's life which goes far beyond knowledge. We inspire, support, mentor and get the chance to discover and share some of the best parts of ourselves as human beings. I love to see them succeed in every aspect academically, socially, and emotionally.
