I think you should just work in a Uni man. This school sounds like it is full of baboons... both the children and the staff. I wouldn't continue working here, you won't like it... Chinese seldom change and almost NEVER change if a foreigner asks them to... To them, you are the weird one... not them. I think you ... Full Comment>>

Around China : Robk commented on news Netizens Favor Chinese Woman in New Alleged ‘Good Samaritan Scam’

Yeah I think the article was wrong. She was crossing the road and he obviously slammed into her. But it looks like it caught her off gaurd... like she didn't TRY to rush into his bike... He hit her, when he should have slowed or went around her. If it was me... I would have come to a complete stop if necessary... Full Comment>>

It was for me too at first, my wife kept correcting me when I said the wrong one like chong, tong, cong, qiong... I was like... that's what I said!... She was right but it was really TOUGH to figure out the subtle differences... and totally new to the tongue too. Full Comment>>

Trust me, give it a shot if you can. Look for other foreign investors if you need (don't get Chinese ones). And don't listen to the in-laws... Full Comment>>

Sounds like a good idea. Actually, I have a friend running a restuarant here and he has been open for a year and doing well. Don't EVER let Chinese you can't do something just because they can't or think you are not capable. They judge you by their standards when they don't understand that foreigners hold a lot of ... Okay this little PRICK, clearly knocked into her. By the camera footage it is obvious she was crossing the street and he ran DIRECTLY into her. This little peice of shit deserves to be flamed to death right now. Not only did he not own his mistake, he swears at her and calls her names. Chinese people, please make an ... Full Comment>>

Around China : Robk commented on news Netizens Favor Chinese Woman in New Alleged ‘Good Samaritan Scam’

Jeez, honestly... do you know the chances of a foreigner randonly pushing down an old Chinese woman for no explicable reason? It's extremely rare and yet there seems to be a lot of cases popping up. What is more likely? Foreigners going around pushing people down so we can pay them money... or Chinese are trying to ... Full Comment>>

I agree with most of what you had said. I think a lot of us foreigners that have taught for more than a couple of years in China have had the exact same experiences are one or two establishments. While this all sounds like a bad experience... in actuality you will gain something from it without a doubt. I decided to ... Full Comment>>

That is correct. More than likely they left China (reason for learning English) or can't speak English. That's why foreigners should put some effort into learning Mandarin. Full Comment>>

Nice article, quite the show. I had a similar incident... Some Chinese men got into a beer bottle barrage over god knows what... They didn't actually say anything, both were drunk and just started smashing bottles over their heads. Anyway, one got knocked unconcious (we just met him that night beforehand). So we ... No it is not spelt "tian" it is spelt "qian"... "tian" can mean, sky, sweet or a number or other things. The difference between the "t" and "q" is like a "teeh" and a "chiii". Sorry hard to correct you or else Chinese won't know what you are saying... even with the tiny difference. Full Comment>>

China, your legal system is beyond fucked up. I know other countries have stupid cases too but... you guys are SO FAR behind it is ridiculous... The next up and coming superpower is made up of people that don't even want to help each other... Sorry but the world will not accept your rise well and will do its best to ... Full Comment>>

I agree. I doubt this "leak" is even a one time incident. I think as soon as you put your info on most chat programs in China... they are automatically "leaked". That's why I say NO Chinese software on my computer. Full Comment>>

Around China : Robk commented on news Foreigners in China Seeking Employment Face Difficulties

This is a stupidly sweeping article. As a foreigner that has lived in China for over seven years, I have resided in both rural villages and top-tier cities. I can assure you that foreigners are still very much rare overall. Chinese media uses foreign "criminal" actions and blows them up in the media to try and ... Full Comment>>

Articles : Robk commented on news In Between Phase: Getting Back on Your Feet After Leaving a Job in China

I was stuck in the exact same rut, but I carved my own way out. Since I am married to a Chinese girl, I can get a marriage visa and do my own work. What is that you ask? I design websites, mobile applications and teach design online. I actually taught myself in China in the all the free time I had. Working from home ... Full Comment>>
