This guy has to win an award for being one of the most stupid people ever. Not only does he obviously hit her and not pay to get out the situation quickly. He insults her, waits for the cops to come and find out he is in China illegally, gets his father in shit, two people lost a job... he makes Italians look bad ... Full Comment>>

coineineagh, You are taking far too much offence to something as if he personally attacked you as a human being for what you do. He meant to try and motivate others in the way he motivated himself. Basically, he saw a bleak and dreary future as a ESL teacher. Remember he only worked as an ESL teacher for 6 months? A ... Full Comment>>

Didn't she just say she was a teacher? I think she put the words "teacher" in quotations to imply that some or many of these English "teachers" are anything but... I would have to agree with her. I think we can all agree some English teachers certainly do not deserve to teach or be called real ... Full Comment>>

Yes, I agree. Skills and achievements are far more important. But in this world money is sometimes a meter on how to measure you accomplishments and sometimes it is not... in my case it is because I am expanding and need the funds to accomodate and justify this expansion. The paper itself means nothing to me or what ... Full Comment>>

I agree with that. Different people in different phases of life... I don't think ESL teachers should be judged on their job either. Unfortunately, a lot of jerks came over and tainted the profession... those are the ones I personally detest. Everyone has issues, so owning up to that is due of respect. Full Comment>>

Well, see you did something a little different. You took ESL and made it yours with TOFEL and IELTS. That is respectable and I went into the area as well. You didn't continue to do the self-defeating clown song and dance... That is still an area of ambition and worthy or respect. I remember when I was an ESL ... Full Comment>>

I think you shouldn't wait around for someone to give you a chance. You can make your own chances and find a way out of the box. Successful people don't stress problems, they stress solutions. There are ways, even if they don't exist yet. If they take it as JUST a brag piece then I think they are just jealous or ... Full Comment>>

Nice post, a lot of your points are true blue and hit the mark. I have learned is that many foreigners here are "time wasters" and really have no ambition. This is paradise to people like them as they are basically handed a place to live, girl friends, a quick and easy and expect to be treated like royalty.... Full Comment>>

I think you should just work in a Uni man. This school sounds like it is full of baboons... both the children and the staff. I wouldn't continue working here, you won't like it... Chinese seldom change and almost NEVER change if a foreigner asks them to... To them, you are the weird one... not them. I think you ... Full Comment>>
