March 25, 2020 HCMC, Vietnam Dear School Manager, I am Marty Eckerman from the United States. I would like to be an English teacher at your school. The attached documents verify my teaching career in public and private schools in the United States, Vietnam and P.R China. I became an Arizona certified public teacher in 1991 after graduating with a BS degree in Education. I taught in public elementary schools for fourteen years from 1991-2004. I taught all the academic core curriculum of science, math, Language Arts and social studies. I retired from teaching in Arizona in 2004. Soon after that I accepted a job teaching ESL English at a university in China. I was interested in learning about Chinese culture and I enjoyed the changes in my daily lifestyle. As it turns out, I really liked living there and I taught for thirteen years in China, from 2004-2017. I was recruited by the Singapore International School (SIS) to move to Vietnam for the 2017-2018 school year. I taught ESL English and Social Studies to the grade 4,5,6 students at their campus in Halong Bay. After one year I moved to HCM City in September 2018 and taught spoken English to the grade 6,7,8,9 students at the Asian International School. In November 2019 I finished my teaching contract at HCMUTE with the Toyota ESL English Program. My employer Dr. Tin T. Dang, is the Dean of the Foreign Languages College, at the University of Technology and Education in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. I have a teaching license issued by the Arizona State Department of Education for ESL English in, grades k-12. My Vietnam work permit is valid until July 2020.
