Re: #4 In China, companies frequently pay Chinese employees under the table, including cash and any number of benefits and direct payments for necessities like cell phone service. It is not limited to foreign English teacher compensation. Non-taxed bonuses (hong bao?) are common and seemingly de rigueur in China. Full Comment>>
