Articles : gouxiong commented on news Monster-in-Law? Common Tensions between Foreign Spouses and Chinese Mothers

I think this more indicates the culture difference in respect to parents and married couple relationship. Even though I do not share in the article described values and approaches so I am also not disturbed by such article. Firstly I think that for absolute majority of Chinese women this is totally irrelevant topic ... Full Comment>>

Articles : gouxiong commented on news Single, Alone and Still Picky: Most Women Will Only Marry Men with a House

First of all I believe they are both adult. If the guy wants a beautiful young girl and this girl agrees to it so I do not see any trouble. In virtually any European country then if one of the partners wants to quit so he/she is entitled to do it irrespective of the other partner wish. Same in China. But because ... Full Comment>>

Why? Why so violently? You can also just tell them it bothers you and if they do not respect that so simply next time select different 'eating partner'. Much better for your (and probably also their) meal enjoyment. Full Comment>>

I am of the similar opinion. Many people neglect or are not aware of the real situation of the 'average' married woman in China. The girl after she is married has a lot of duties towards her own parents, towards the husband and also husband parents. It's generally not expected (and also not desired) that she will ... Dear RiriRiri, the point I was trying to raise is that I really doubt Confucius Institutes would try to indoctrinate their students. I can hardly imagine any reasonable way how could they do it and I cannot see any benefit for anyone even in highly unlikely case they would really try that. But apparently this is not ... Mateusz, there is a saying: "the road to hell is paved with good intentions" Nothing wrong with your standards and wish you a lot of friends with same ones. In case it's not her free will, meaning she is actually forced into such behaviour, so it's currently illegal in majority of the countries, including China. Mateusz, yes, I would not have any issue with it. If the girls is willing to spend 10 years with a guy without knowing he can do such a thing so there is something wrong with the girl, not with the man. Or another alternative is the girl knows that quite well but she gets in her opinion adequate value so it's anyway ... Full Comment>>

May be it has no connection with the words meaning but rather with the way how they are used. Yes, Englteachted. This is one point.
