All forms of terrorism should be rooted out as there is nothing more cowardly than a guy (a group of) killing innocent people in the name of his/her/their the only correct idea (or culture ...). If any person starts to support/promote his/her idea by any terrorist act so this itself should be already a good reason ... Full Comment>>

Dear RiriRiri, Let me point out that your statements contradict. On one hand you claim that majority (or at least big portion) of Chinese are nationalists and on the other hand you are convinced they would be happy to forget their nationality. I guess it's either or ... Coming back to you assumption that in case US ... Full Comment>>

I have no comments over US government immigration policy as it's not my country. My approach towards this differs from yours, apparently your country and also from my country and China's approach. I believe into free and equal opportunities and therefore I would not see any trouble in any immigrants to my country as ... Full Comment>>

Eorthisio, I agree with you that current Germany is probably one of the most democratic countries in Europe and certainly the least restrictive towards foreigners. In that sense Guest2239322 is totally wrong. However he/she simply overreacted over your more or less similar nonsense statement above. In any country ... Full Comment>>

Even though China air pollution is a real problem, your statement about the ecological concern which played the vital role for uniting people in Eastern Block is wrong. Dear Robk, No, it's not OK. But if the child does the sex 'voluntarily' even though being pushed or maneuvered into the act so she may be under certain conditions considered being prostitute and then for such a crime the punishment is 5-15 years in the jail. However for the rape the current legislation says 3 years ... Full Comment>>

I just say that this article is quite 'innocent' and that what the majority of the first 8 commentators criticized was not the quality of the article as such. I am not surprised anymore by so many nonsense chauvinistic remarks as it looks to be a standard for certain contributors but I am still shocked - shame on me ... Full Comment>>

Dear Guest2301262, As you jumped out of the original point I was commenting on your contribution - term laowai - so I assume that this is now clarified and we may close this topic positively - term laowai is not derogatory. Contrary to some comments here I do not think it's oversimplified. The style of presentation should always fit the audience. Yes, for sure - Christian were persecuted by Jews and later on by Romans. Both these civilizations are then also contributing to that 'judeo-christian ethics' you mentioned. Interesting. I to certain agree with you about your ghost term theory but I apparently missed the point where you jumped to: 'laowai is actually an offense' part. I am not sure that the persons who 'hate'to admit that one per mille equals to 0.1 percent are Chinese. I would more dare to guess that these two will be members of that active, hopefully small, expat group shouting the loudest how superior is their Western education to the local Chinese one. But of course, I can be ... Full Comment>>
