Around China : royceH commented on news Yes, Chinese Work Hard, Have Long Hours, But Is This a Good Thing?

5 years ago I saw a bloke working hard. He was stacking bricks. I watched him for a while and when he saw me I gave him some applause. He just stared at me. When I returned along that street about 10 minutes later I saw him asleep by a tree. I've never seen another Chinese person working much at all, much less hard. Full Comment>>

Articles : royceH commented on news Five Off the Beaten Track Destinations in China

The Uyghir culture is completely distinct from the Chinese culture, as stated in the article. Whilst the Uyghirs are the biggest minority in Xinjiang, there are many others as well. Where I live, Kazakhs are more predominant. And music plays a big part for all of them (although there is less of it evident in the day ... Full Comment>>

Around China : royceH commented on news Hundreds of Believers Climb Qingyuan Mountain on Their Knees

What a dumb thing to do. 3 hours of hands and kneeing over all that spit and piss. Disgusting if you ask me. Anyway, what have the people got to be grateful for that can't be expressed with a thanks Mum, thanks love...or something like that? A bloody shower at the end would help a lot and I'd bet they'd be grateful ... Full Comment>>

I just don't care for Chinese beer. It's the classic example of love in a boat. But I drink it anyway. Too much of it, my wife says. Still, the pencil still works. Cheers! Full Comment>>

Articles : royceH commented on news 14 Things You Need to Know about Beijing's September 3 Military Parade

I just turned on CCTV News and was surprised to learn that only when the KMT and the Communists combined their efforts were the Japanese Invaders put right under the hammer and consequently thrown into disarray and forced down the road to defeat. Did anyone read about that in their history books? Full Comment>>

Around China : royceH commented on news World's Most and Least Liveable Cities: Where Does China Fall?

I was in Melbourne last week and am not surprised it's been considered so highly by the powers that be. But $7.30 for a mid strength beer at the footy might've cost it a point or so. At least you can still get a full strength drop in the members' bar. Full Comment>>

Around China : royceH commented on news Domestic Violence Causes Woman to Threaten 13 Story Jump

I reckon most Chinese men aren't worth a cracker. Most of them exist only to impress others by how far they can shove their hands up their own arse. And the funny thing is that this matters to the other Chinese people. What they truly need is a diversion. But that ain't coming any time soon. But it is coming. Full Comment>>

Around China : royceH commented on news Most Countries Believe that China Will Trump American Power

I don't think most countries believe that. Sure, most Chinese believe it but only because of the way they they've been programmed. What concerns me is the speed in which they're setting up (potential) military bases in the Western Pacific. For me the 64 dollar question is how long before someone puts their foot down. I've been trying to do that for 5 years. It's difficult, and quite a challenge. I'm prepared to admit that 95% of my efforts have resulted in failure. But I try nevertheless. You know, when a student hands me something that is actually English...I chubby up. Full Comment>>

I hear what you're saying. I don't think it's drawing a long bow at all to suggest that disenfranchised Chinese people could be sucked up into this evil 'death cult' (Abbottism). And not only Chinese Muslims either. Actually, it's not hard to believe that China has quite a few disenfranchised people. A couple of ... Full Comment>>
