Around China : Robk commented on news U.S. Teacher Deported for Critical Text Message in Tibet

And this country was granted the Beijing 2022 Olympics? This is outrageous... not only were her text messages obviously monitored but how can you deport a person for a text message? Did she somehow threaten the government? Ridiculous. Full Comment>>

This shouldn't even been news anymore. It is so extremely common for Chinese to cheat that it SHOULD be news when Chinese actually do the hard work and don't embarrass themselves and their people's reputation. Full Comment>>

Around China : Robk commented on news Surprise! Family With 100,000 Yuan in Black Trash Bags Accidentally Throws It Away

This is NOT the first time I heard of Chinese doing this... In one story, a Chinese woman and her husband kept 1 000 000 RMB in a trash bag in their closet. Their cleaning woman, thinking it was trash, grabbed it one day and rode to the trash yard. On the way... she heard a screeching sound behind her... getting ... Full Comment>>

Articles : Robk commented on news What Does it Take to Be Middle Class in China?

Yeah, this article is full of crap. In my city, the average Chinese earner makes about 1500-3000 per month. Let's say the mother and the father are both working so that is like 3000-6000 RMB per month. Which is about 60 000 per year. That sounds more like the average middle class family around China. In Shanghai or ... Full Comment>>

Something is very wrong about how this article is translated or written. "Wang came under a spell and embraced the girl in what turned into a struggle." @tsmithfi - Haha. That's true, and while the grandparents do supervise them a little better. That's probably why the parents obviously don't have a clue what they are doing. If you watch the video, the guy doesn't TOSS he kind of picks her up and puts her in another lane. It's not like he hulk tossed her through the wall. He ran into her while swimming laps. The women in the video (and the guy chimes in) "Look, he never hit her!" But actually, his arm hit her while underwater. And you ... Full Comment>>

Around China : Robk commented on news Draft Bill on Internet Safety Open for Feedback

Umm... no. Turning off the internet is usually to segregate the people from communication or information. In no way, shape or form should the internet EVER be allowed to be "turned off under special circumstances." China does this, there will be a mass exodus of people. And more than likely, those people will ... Full Comment>>

This is why these "prestigious" universities are full of idiotic professors that are consistently ruining their reputation. @Final Say - You know you can get a Q visa, that would allow you to stay for six-months to a year and just renew it. That way you have more control over your visa situation. If you earn quite a bit, they won't kick you out. China is all about sucking up to those who have money... Chinese or foreign. Full Comment>>
