Articles : sorrel commented on news Silent Agreement: The Four Unwritten Rules of Courtship in China

so are you saying that the domestic violence endemic within chinese society is ok because i am foreign and i don't understand? How is this or the mistreatment of women and children not a bad thing for ANY society? I have witnessed the casual violence regularly and you suggest i should accept this? Until women are ... Articles : sorrel commented on news Silent Agreement: The Four Unwritten Rules of Courtship in China

"we Chinese have our own way of doing things. And we are doing just fiiine" So you mean that domestic violence is fine, and because anyone who is a foreigner objects to this, we are bad people ? Also, most foreigners don't accept the demands of girls for a house and car prior to marriage as ok. Likewise a man asking ... Full Comment>>

Around China : sorrel commented on news 600 Wenzhou Residents spend 260,000 RMB on Speaker to Repel Dancing Ladies

very logical. Prevent old-lady gangs from playing their loud music while they dance by blasting even louder music. Probably ****ing even more people off. This will probably result in the old ladies just changing their dance routine to fit the new music. Full Comment>>

my answer is both serious and a joke. A joke because we have all heard this answer. Serious, because when i ask for a further explanation of 'chinese culture', all i get is silence. It is seen as a justification for any bizzare action. M Full Comment>>

Articles : sorrel commented on news “Naked Resignation”: Following Your Feet Out The Office

a marriage partner requires a bit more than the fact he is good-looking, 1.8 m., speaks English and has a good job. What you say are all superficial things. Credit foreign women with a bit more depth of character. Full Comment>>

Blogs : sorrel commented on sethbarham.esl 's blog I Can't Get Past the Driving

When talking about Chinese driving, i also include parking. As far as i can see, parking your vehicle is acceptable ANYWHERE. If there is a free space, there is a car or bike parked there. The number if times trying to cross the road has been changed into a game of chance by the cars parked on corners, thus blocking ... Full Comment>>

myopia can be a hereditary condition, so all this will do is make it worse. Articles : sorrel commented on news Problems Facing the Development of China’s Ecotourism Industry

Due to the volume of tourists in China, education is the key. Even in parks maintained by teams of gardeners, litter is everywhere. The same for more the few national parks i have visited. Litter is dropped regardless. It is sad to see the ever-dwindling undeveloped parts of the country being destroyed by ignorance. Full Comment>>
