Around China : Samsara commented on news Woman Knocks Over Old Man, Refuses to Apologize Because of ‘Special Status’

Hi Mead --- What separates us from that woman is that we don't have public tantrums, attack other people's cars with our fists, or drive into old men. --- Your objection to people expressing contempt towards her seems to be solely based on the vocabulary they use, not the fact that they are expressing contempt. --- ... Wow. Credit to the hospital for really going beyond the call of duty. Western hospitals give up on a corpse after only a few minutes. But this one continued administering treatment for DAYS. That's the type of generosity you won't find anywhere else but China. Full Comment>>

While the CCP loves talking about "soft power", what they seem to have forgotten is that you need produce something that people want. What other countries want from China is clothes and other factory products. What they don't want is lectures about "Confucian Values". The West has had tons better philosophers, and ... "you cannot hold discrimination by such individual incident"... INDIVIDUAL INCIDENT? Are you serious? Around China : Samsara commented on news Woman Faints in Shenzhen Subway, Dies After Being Left Alone for 50 Mins

It's the behaviour of mainland Chinese people that we are lamenting; not their race. Take you for example: Instead of expressing anger or sympathy, you just deny that anything happened (and try to somehow divert the blame to foreign people). That's the same attitude as people who walk past an unconscious woman and ... Full Comment>>

In terms of Natural Selection, the fact that Chinese people have no interest in each others' life or death is against them. Their staggering numbers and ability to thrive in toxic environments are factors in their favour, I guess. --- By the way, if that is a photo of the woman in question, she looks really bright ... Guest: When you say "know about masculine and feminine energies", do you mean "know" in the same sense as people knowing about maths, science and geography? OK, let’s address a few of these statements. “Inarguably one of the fastest and most sustainably growing economies on the planet” Inarguably? Spot on, Coineineagh. This whole article comes off as government-sponsored China-prop about the country's “passionate” and “caring” people, “delicious” food, “interesting” culture and indomitable economy, with a few barely-articulated criticisms thrown in to give the appearance of impartiality. I don't think mianzi has any positive side. Aiolos doesn't seem to be defending it (or the other Chinese phenomena under discussion) so much as participating in lucid discussion and analysis. Completely agree! By the way - Pointing out TCM's extraordinary lack of rigor (intentionally vague and mystical terminology, persistent avoidance of clinical testing, non-reliance on EVIDENCE, etc.) isn't "daft" in any sense.
