Articles : 13david commented on news China’s Artificial Inflation Statistics are Making the People Poorer

Having now inextricably entangled itself in the capitalist system, China Is now simply experiencing the vagaries of the market. The Communist [?] party will do what it chooses and "stuff" in particular the USA. How long , if it's not already here, will the phrase "The rich will get richer and the poor poorer" apply ... Articles : 13david commented on news Relaxing or Restricting? China’s Music Censors Confuse Yet Again

I remember Jagger doing a press conference in Shanghai, expressing some surprise with the "Party" banning about 7 of their songs. He responded with "well we have 750 other songs we can play". Even the super sensitive communist [?] party couldn't trawl through all those. Nice to see street Fighting man slipping ... Full Comment>>

I'd like to ask Xi if he is a communist and if there is any truth to the "Bloomberg News" and the "Time's accusations about his family being "suss". I am intrigued to know how the Chinese Internet is "scrubbed" [?]and why smart hackers, even in China can't find a way around that. Poeople in China following the world ... Full Comment>>

Articles : 13david commented on news Sanya Nudist Beach: A Sign that Traditions are Fading?

I imagine Sanya beach is relatively close to the nudist beach[?] On the island I saw many deserted[ ?"] beaches, so if there's a hassle it's easy to establish somewhere else, especially as these Chinese would be rich Chinese. On the mainland there's not much in the way of beaches worth visiting and being shoulder to ... Full Comment>>

Articles : 13david commented on news Understanding Weibo: The Many Faces of “China’s Twitter”

You're right, I am idealistic. I didn't speak of a "utopia" as such, just the stifling of dissent. Just ask Tibetans who are self emolating or the disappeared. A government who can lock up a nobel laureate for 11 years should face much more scrutiny than it does. Exposing China to the global media is a start. It ... Full Comment>>

It's not just the rich at banquets it happens right through Chinese society with the exception of the rural poor.
