China is rapidly increasing its desire to speak English and the rates by which English schools and English teachers are summoned are staggering. The Chinese are impatient and they’re eager in dominating the world’s lingua franca.

The amount of esl job opportunities have always been large in the bigger cities like Shanghai and Beijing, however it’s the rural towns that are making the most noise lately. Not everyone wants to go to the city to learn English, so esl schools have been popping up all over the country side in recent years.

In order to become an ESL teacher in China, you would need to have a Bachelor’s degree and be a native English speaker. You may additionally want to obtain a TEFL or TESOL certification, which will not only help you with better esl job opportunities but also provide a basis for you to build on your experience as an ESL teacher. There are different types of courses available depending on your experience and needs and can be done at your own pace although they can be completed within a month. Generally, any course with a duration of at least 120 hours is enough to qualify you for a visa and be able to work in the main cites in China. It will also prepare you for the classroom and equip you with the skills you need for a successful career. The great thing is that it is recognized worldwide so you could continue your career in another country afterwards!

Teaching esl students can be a welcoming change from students who attend schools where they are forced to go because of their parents. At esl schools, the children and students have a real desire to learn English and therefore do their homework and assignments with great fervor and ambition – complimenting and lightening every teachers work load.

ESL is the future in teaching and every ambitious teacher enthusiast or expert knows that hopping on the esl bandwagon is one of the smartest decisions they can make for job security and a bright and fruitful career.
