Thank you for meeting with me on Thursday.  I am interested in working for ______, but I would like to ask you some questions about how the salary is calculated first.  I just want to be sure that I understand.  The best way to know is to give you an example and ask you to help me calculate it.  Thanks for your help.

Example

(I will use 10000 rmb as a monthly salary and living stipend example because it is easy to calculate.)

What if…

• Salary + Living Stipend = 10000rmb.

• I agree to be scheduled for 5 classes per day, but the actual classes I work follows the calendar below.

• I perform 5 open classes during the month, and 3 of these students sign up.

March 2014

Total classes actually worked = 93   

Total open classes worked = 5 (3 students sign up)

What would my total monthly pay be for March 2014?  How would you calculate this?

My understanding is:

• Salary + Living Stipend (87 classes)                                                                                10000.00

• Overtime for working above 5 classes per day (6 classes)                                       600.00

• Open classes (5 classes   X  0.5 = 2.5 classes)                                                                  250.00

• Bonus for student sign up (3 students  X  200rmb)                                                     600.00

Total Gross Salary            11450.00 rmb  ?
