Things I would like to know before signing a contract.

Please help me know you a little better by answering the questions below.  Thank you!

  1.  How do you calculate(您们用什么标准来衡量)overtime for additional work activities including open classes, outside activities, workshops, “English corners” and other work performed?

    1. Is it any work beyond 8 hours per day?

    2. Is it any work beyond 5 classes per day?

    3. Is it any work beyond 40 hours per week?

    4. Is it any work beyond a certain number of hours worked per month?

    5. Other.  If other, please specify _______________________________________________

      ________________________________________________________________________.

  2.  When is the teacher given his/her class schedule?

    1. A month in advance.

    2. A week in advance.

    3. A day in advance.

    4. No advance notice is given.

  3. If a student signs up with you because I recruited, demonstrated, referred, found or convinced them to sign up, then how do I receive the bonus you are promising?

  4. Are there any hidden fines or penalties that are not listed in the contract that I should be aware of before signing the contract?  If yes, what are they?

  5. Will I be required to sign additional documents after signing the contract that impacts my salary, living stipend, bonuses or other compensation?

  6. Will the company give me a copy of all the documents I sign in addition to a copy of a signed contract both in English and in Chinese?

  7. Does the company hold on to my Foreign Expert Certificate at any time?

  8. If the company changes the location of my work or requires me to travel to another location, then will the company compensate me for the travel time and travel expenses?

  9. Is the salary specified in the contract divided in any way between different types of salaries, each with different qualifying criteria required to receive?  For example:  Base salary = garaunteed + Teaching salary = based on the number of actual classes taught.

Please excuse my inquiries.  I am a good teacher and I’m looking for a good company to work for.  I do believe that a company and an employee can work together to provide an enjoyable working relationship, excellent service and maximize profit at the same time.  Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,
