A rising trend of knife attacks.... 3 in Shanghai last year, the terrible attacks in Kunming earlier this year, a hostage situation in Nanjing less than 2 months ago and now this week again in Shanghai.

It's a growing concern.

Are you concerned ?

Are you prepared if such an event should happen ?

What would you do ?

Now might be a good time to find a self defence or Martial Art class.

In truth I never liked knives (especially when being waved around by some unstable type!!!).

I've spent most of my life studying various martial arts and to be honest not many of them will give you practical techniques that can be used in close quarters combat against a knife. The best I've seen is Samurai Aiki Ju Jutsu, the ancient art of the samurai was designed for an unarmed opponent to be able to safely disarm a sword, knife or some other pointy object about to be used to burst your life containing bubble.

There are other arts but the Aiki Ju Jutsu best prepares you for what you might face in a knife attack. You learn not to fear but how to react. In my humble opinion it's an insurance policy and one well worth having in times of growing uncertainty.

Stay safe, protect loved ones and those less able to protect themselves.

I hope this inspires people to start a journey that will lead to a life without fear.
