Colour Qualification

Colour Qualification

OK so I'm helping my cousin look for a job on a website where foreigners can submit their CV's and have them reviewed based on posts employers leave. Today started just like any other day. The morning smog / fog, overcrowded buses with children rushing to school as their parents make their way to work, and nonstop traffic on local roads that could rival any Los Angeles freeway during midday. I log onto this website and review ads for jobs for my cousin and I begin to read... The advertisement says: "Full time&part time teachers needed in Beijing.next is the details about position: Chaoyang district: students age: more than 5 yearvis old. salary :16000-18000Rmb/month prode the accommodation work time :From 4:00-8:00pm from Monday to Friday afternoon.the weekend whole day. after one year contract will pay the Airfare allowance. Haidian District student age:3-10 years old. salary :6500-11000rmb/month provide accommodation. work time:Wed-Friday afternoon and the whole weekend this school also need part time teachers who is from American ,salary is 200Rmb/month Daxing district: student age:4-12 years old. salary:14000-16000Rmb/month work time:Wed-Sunday.every week about 20-25 hours class." Granted, I disregarded the errors and typos because I believed that English had to be the 2nd language of the person posting the advertisement. But what was inexcusable in the post were the following words which made up the conclusive broken sentence. It read: "so if you are white Europe, and have about 1 years teaching experience, please contact with me" Wow! I'm not even the person who was applying for the job and I was quite offended by the blatant bias and undeniable racism that I was reading. The scariest thing about it was knowing that it wasn't even a White European who was posting such an ad. I have no problem with colour. I never did. My brother is white and I wouldn't care if he were purple, I'd still love him all the same. I myself, happen to be black from Northern England and I've seen my fair share of racism and being mistreated throughout my times and travels with my brother. But I've never seen an advertisement which displayed an attempt at eloquently attracting teachers, come to do the very thing that contradicts it's mere purpose... which is to get a Foreign Teacher. I cannot begin to understand the stereotypical beliefs impact or influence on a society which have been discriminated against for so many years. How did this happen? How is this happening in 2014? How are those under this belief convince themselves that the shoe was never on the other foot? Help me out here people? I saw that they needed people who were experienced in teaching for those who were in need to learn a language. I had no clue that there was an ethnicity clause. Is there a Colour Qualification??? To be continued...

China is easily 100 years behind the rest of the world.

China is on a different planet. The root causes go too deep to adequately explain. Here's a small insight: answers.echinacities.com/question/why-do-chinese-look-down-africans Suffice to say, they are blissfully unaware of their own rudeness, and wish to remain so. The only force that can change it is the government, but they've been promoting ignorance for decades now. You can chalk it up to cruelty within China. The government hurts its people, the hospitals and education system just milk them for cash, and there is absolutely no awareness of the outside world. It didn't happen in 2014 because the person who wrote it was living in the year of the Snake at the time. Different era on planet China.
