About Me

I have a Chinese father and a Japanese mother. I was born in US Territory . I grew up in 3 countries except China. My first experience working in China was in 1995. I was so amazed that what I heard and read about China was so wrong and Chinese in China are not like overseas Chinese.

What do you mean at expense of reality? Excuse me, whose economy is crumbling or is it whose economy is not crumbling? Where do you get the figure for organ harvesting? You must be in this business to know the exact figure for this. It's not in practice but it is legal to have different parties. Border disputes ... Full Comment>>

If one is not useful anymore, then one is not needed, and therefore good bye. I thought that's how it worked all over the world. When you skill is in demand they pay you a premium, when it's not needed...you know. So stop blaming China, find another place where your skills are needed. Full Comment>>

Laowai are here to find some kind of success of their own. People like you are definitely not here to help China see the light, it's because you cannot succeed in your own country. So it's time to stop basking in your own self deception and sense of superiority and be thankful for what you have; if you're here ... Full Comment>>

I don't think eChinacities is pushing the party line. Like the Americans and Europeans, Chinese tend to like 大气 the 2 characters mean big air literally. In context it means big presence. Nothing wrong with having the world's biggest whatever. Americans used to be so proud of Empire State Building, Sears Tower, now ... Full Comment>>

Articles : tomgee commented on news Trying to Understand The Reasons Why Some Foreigners Hate Chinese Food

This is a very interesting article. It shows us that we tend to generalize and make a statement that seems to sound derogatory towards a group of people. Your opening sentence tries to lessen the blow by saying that 'sometimes we're afraid of it'. We should be honest but specific; for example, I could never imagine ... Full Comment>>

I as a foreigner think Mr. Yang Rui is a great journalist. He is objective and not afraid to ask awkward questions. I do not agree to many of his point of views too. But who in any country does not want to get rid of trash. Nothing wrong with that. Tom Full Comment>>

Let's be specific here. How many women have you met. Meeting these type of women is a reflection on you that you must be a loser, have a micro penis, ugly, can't get it up...oh...you couldn't find any woman that will sleep with you in your hometown so you came here to buy sex. Makes sense. Keep on answering. Full Comment>>

Did you read the comment from the Englishman? Chinese investment into Africa has been going on for donkey years. It was not based on making quick profit. China needed friends. Terence, I agree with you. Your countries has a heavy burden from SE Asia who do not contribute much. But you are paying for the sins of your ancestors so you cannot do to much. Sorry Dan, but I think Mr. Yang Rui wanted to make a strong impact. This is a common sentiment in many countries about foreigners.
