NON NATIVES CAN SPEAK ENGLISH TOO

I have been looking at job listings on this site and there are quite a lot of jobs with good salaries. However, my heart breaks everytime i read the requirements specified for the job. Most of the jobs require native english speakers form the US and Canada.... What about non natives that can speak english too? People from countries like Zimbabwe, South Africa and Nigeria can speak good English too but they dont get the opportunity to showcase if they can speak english because they are not given the chance to. I think employers should pay more attention to credentials and work experience rather than the country of birth. English may not be our mother tongue but it is one of the official languages in most countries. Why must my status as a non native be a disadvantage??? Does it mean that non native speakers are not allowed to work as teachers in china simply because they do not come from the US or Canada. It is not our fault that we were not born in english speaking countries, but we are all humans and we all deserve a chance to show our capabilities. I am really heart broken because i would also want to teach english here in china but my non native status stands as a barrier for me. I really wish this prejudice would stop so that we all get equal chances.
