Confidence: How to display it, how to get it and what to do when you feel less than confident.

  1. Positive Thinking: When life knocks you down, do you just lay there or do you get up and reclaim your power. I am sure everyone prefers to be around happy, positive people over negative, depressed ones.
  2. Do not walk away from a challenge: Instead see it as a game, don’t think of all the things that could go wrong and loosing face. Think about the experience you gain now and how that experience will help you to be better in the future.
  3. Fake it till you make it: Pretend. Act as though you have very high self-confidence already. Smile for no reason each day for a few minutes non-stop. This will automatically put you into a positive mind-set.
  4. Have a mantra: A quote, saying or thought you live by which you remind yourself of each day. Visualise your success and achieving your goals.
  5. Just do it: If there is something that you have been wanting to try, just do it. If you stop making excuses and go after your wants, needs and dreams you will be more positive because you will go further than you thought possible.
  6. Have a positive role model. Look for a mentor who can help you when you go off your path. Normally one mentor is not enough. You need at least 2 or three. I personally have many mentors. One for work; one for relationships and two for career. That’s the reason why I am here. Without those mentors I would have been too afraid to move to China. To push yourself to the next level all you need to do is to take the first step and keep moving ahead after that.

In short: Never quit; be positive; smile; visualisation; watch your emotions and fears; associate with other positive thinkers. The fact is that the power of positive thinking is NOT a myth. It can work for every one of us. Even if things are bad you will see some positives and the bad will not affect you as much it would have if you remained malaise or negative.
